Terms & Conditions

Important: Please read these terms and conditions carefully before completing your rental. By proceeding with your booking, you agree to be bound by all terms outlined below.

1. Reservation & Rental Term

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a valid credit card and driver's license. In the event of a flight delay, we will hold your reservation for up to 1 hour past your scheduled arrival time.

2. Rental Fees & Security Deposit

Rental fees are calculated on a 24-hour basis from the time of pickup. A security deposit is required at the time of rental and will be refunded upon satisfactory return of the vehicle.

3. Mileage, Fuel & Use Restrictions

Vehicles must be returned with a full tank of fuel. A refueling fee of CI $15 per gallon applies if the tank is not returned full. Vehicles may not be used for off-road driving, racing, towing, or transporting illegal goods.

4. Driver Eligibility

A valid driver's license is required. Additional drivers may be added for a fee. Minimum age requirements vary by vehicle category.

5. Insurance & Liability

Renters are responsible for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period unless covered by an accepted insurance plan.

6. Damage, Accidents & Breakdowns

Any damage or accident must be reported immediately. A police report is required for all accidents. Contact our emergency line for breakdown assistance.

7. Return Policy & Late Fees

Vehicles must be returned in the same condition as received. Late returns are charged as follows: up to 3 hours late = 1/3 of a day's charge; beyond 3 hours = full day charge.

8. Insurance & Protection Options

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) options include Full Coverage Standard, Basic Coverage Limited, and Decline (with qualifying credit card insurance). Third Party Liability (TPL) coverage is also available. Additional protection includes Roadside Assistance and Tire & Windshield coverage.

9. Mandatory Fees

All rentals are subject to an Ecological Fee (environmental conservation) and a Government Licensing Fee.

10. Cancellation & Modification

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. After the cancellation deadline, a $75 fee or a percentage of the rental cost applies.

11. Termination & Company Rights

Europcar reserves the right to terminate a rental agreement for contract violations, unauthorized use, driving under the influence, or unauthorized vehicle modifications. Repossession without notice is permitted in such cases.

12. Additional Charges & Penalties

Lost or damaged items: Keys CI $300-$750, License Plates CI $450. Excessive cleaning fee: CI $150-$300.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This agreement is governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands. Disputes are resolved through negotiation, then through the courts of the Cayman Islands.
